** Bye Bye Edwin **

Managed to squeeze out time for this farewell dinner @ Waraku East Coast on 23 Jan'09. Yes, Edwin is leaving us and decided to move on to work in Australia (this is wat he always wanted).

I took few hours off from taking care of bb Jade, thks to Kenny who agreed to take care of her. He drove me to East Coast too cos he said it will b difficult to get a cab during that hour.

I did not tell the rest that I'm coming, I told only Li Woon, decided to give the rest a surprise. :) Indeed some were surprised to see me, hahaha!!! We bought him a Crumpler backpack for him to use over in Australia. Hope he likes it.

After dinner, we had New Zealand's ice-cream which was situated behind Waraku. Finally, we bidded farewell to Edwin and wished him all the best in watever he do. Some of us called it a nite while the youngsters carried on as the nite was still young. They headed down to St James for drinking session.

Being a new mum, of course, I left after the dessert. Albert gave me a ride home.
It was an unforgettable nite, I will definitely miss this dear fren of mine.

I still remembered I met Edwin during an orientation program organised by SingTel. We were all new recruits back then. Edwin brought me into his grp of lunch kakis (Best fren group) and frm there, I got to know more frens from SingTel. Though we are from different biz grp, we met up often during lunch.

It was indeed sad to know that he's leaving us and gg somewhere faraway, but still this is something he wanted all along, so naturally, I'm happy for him too. It seemed like yesterday when we 1st joined SingTel.

Spot us?

All the best Edwin, wherever u r, watever u do! :)

** January - HM & Phyllis's Big Day **

11 Jan'2009

The long waited day finally arrived. It was just right after my one month confinement, thus I'm able to make it for their big day. This is Jade and Phyllis yiyi first time seeing each other since she was born. Due to Chinese belief, Phyllis did not come visit Jade in the hospital as well as her full month party. So on this day, they finally met.
Congratulations to the newly-wed. Hope Jade will have another cousin to play with soon!

** January - Jade's Full Month Party **

3 & 4 Jan'2009

We decided to celebrate Jade's full month for 2 days as there were just too many guests to invite. Initially, we wanted it to be a small affair, this proved to be a tough task. Hahha!!! So we decided to invite all who came to our mind. Colleagues, frens, relatives & the list went on.

On 3 Jan, the party was dedicated more to Ken's family & relatives and my frens. We ordered buffet for 2 days. I put up some decorations and personally made letter-cutting of Jade's name n pasted it on the wall.

My darling wore a white romper with pretty flowers and butterflies. Her accessories were anklet and bracelet given by "Tai Po" and grandparents. I was instructed by my parents to let Jade wear them during her full month's party.

3 Jan was the last nite of my confinement aunty, of cos have to take photo of Jade & Aunty lah! Thanks for her help throughout the first month. She realli helped us alot. I also want to thank her for feeding me well, hhaha!!! Look at the photo n u realised wat I meant. :)

On 4 Jan, it was 2nd day of Jade's full month. My family & relatives came. And more of our frens. My confinement aunty left in the afternoon, and frm that moment onwards, our nitemare began. Hahhaa!!!

Friends and their kids

Gifts - Thank you to all family & frens for their generosity.

** Arrival of our Precious Angel **

In my previous post, I was counting down 10 days to Baby Jade's arrival. However, she was eager to come to this world, maybe she wanted to celebrate bday together with Granny and to attend her Yiyi's wedding. She's not gg to miss the big occasion.

Yes, she arrived on 7 Dec'08, Sunday. Weighing 3.005kg and measuring 48cm.

I was experiencing contractions around 1am plus, after monitoring for a few hours, off we went to KKH. I was inspected and was 4cm dilated liao. I was admitted to the labour ward straight. It was 4plus in the morning.

The actual labour started at around 6plus, I told myself to go through it w/o epidural no matter what. When the nurse put me on drips, the intense contractions was realli unbearable. I used the gas but it was of zero use.

I was lying on my side and whenever the pain came, I will grabbed the bed railing and put my breathing technique into use. It didnt help much too, and I kept telling myself, no epidural, no epidural, bear with it!

In the end, it was Kenny who wanted me to take epidural. I surrendered and said ok. While waiting for the anesthetist to come, the midwife was asking me questions like do I feel like clearing bowels when the contractions came. Tell u, when u r in great pain and ppl is asking u questions, u dun feel like answering at all. Hahaha!!! I told her ya! Then she do another cervix chk for me again. This time she said I was dilated to 8cm. Basically no need to take epidural liao. I heaved a sign of relief. I was thinking, finally the ordeal is over. Baby Jade is gg to come out soon.

Sad to say, I struggled almost 2 hrs before Jade realli popped out. Tremendous amount of energy was wasted during the push. I was told to switch to 2 other positions to hasten the labour, but it was of little help too.

Forcep was finally needed to get Baby Jade out. It was really an experience that I will never ever forget man! The feeling was definitely indescribable when I held Jade in my arms.

I'm overjoyed to see Baby Jade in my arms, and that she's able to latch on without fuss. However I was unable to walk, my bones seem to be on strike, they refused to move. I had difficulties getting out of the bed and walk.
Still, I was discharged the next day. I need to be wheeled down to the carpark in a wheelchair. Even when I got home, I need the help of a office chair (with rollers) to help me move around. I was walking backwards when I'm not using the chair. I can't reached Jade the moment she cried, I depended alot on the confinement lady and Kenny.

Anyway the dreadful moments were long gone. I'm enjoying every single moment now with Jade. I will be returning back to work real soon. I must treasure every precious minute and watch Jade grow day by day.

Playing PSP to kill time in the labour ward!
