** 台北 - Day 2 **

We woke up around 8.30am, though the hotel provide breakfast, we decided to have the local food for breakfast instead! Our itinery for day 2 was to travel out of "西门丁" area!

Our hotel - "城都饭店" was located at "西门丁" area and was about 5mins walk to the nearest "捷运" which is their MRT lah! It's a three stars hotel, although not very posh and the room was quite small, we were contented with the convenient location and friendly hotel staffs.

We had our breakfast at this small eatery, we ordered 2 kinds of noodles, one dumpling soup and a plate of vegetables. Then, we could not find any cutlery, I checked with the waiter and realised the cutleries was hidden under our table...hahaha!!!

After having our breakfast, we took their MRT to "淡水", which took about 45mins. Another bus journey which took about 20mins, and finally we reached our first destination for the day - "淡水渔人码头"! The scenery was great and it was the coldest place in Taipei. We walked across the Valentine's Bridge with the wind blowing heartlessly, our hands n face were chilled! But the feeling was fantastic!

We spent the whole afternoon there, taking photos, sipping coffee and snacking! It was so so relaxing. We walked at a slow pace and this was definitely a luxury. Unlike, in Singapore, the pace was always fast & hectic! How often do you stroll in a park or along a beach with your loved ones?
We also saw doggies everywhere in Taipei, even on a motobike! Hahha!

In the end, it was time to bid farewell to "渔人码头" and head to our next destination which was still within "淡水"! This time, instead of taking a bus journey back, we took a ferry to "淡水老街"!

We spent alot of our time buying souvenirs and local snacks for our family and friends at "淡水老街". Initially, we thought of postponing our "五分铺" trip till tomorrow cos it was getting late. We enquired from a young salesgirl from a novelty shop, she told us shops in "五分铺" open from evening till 1 or 2am. Hahaha...heng ah, my shopping plan was not disrupted! *Phew*

We returned to our hotel to put our purchases, had dinner and proceed to the wholesales shopping paradise - "五分铺"! I loved the place, the fashion is more trendy, shops are neater and there are more varieties. Every boutiques sell different fashion. It was better than Thailand's Chatuchak! Most importantly, you do not perspired like mad while shopping, you need not squeezed yourself through crowded lanes and bargain like mad. Some tops cost about NT$100 which was about SGD$5!!! What else to expect?

This shopping paradise might not be as big as Chatuchak, but if you regretted not buying something from one shop and will like to return to the same shop after sometime, you might find difficulties locating the shop. It can be a maze there, so dun think twice if you see something you like! Other shops may not sell similar stuff! Bear that in mind! *wink*
By the time we returned to our hotel, my legs were complaining liao...from all the walking. Needless to say, my hubby was tired too, but he got no complains lah, he too like to shop there!
We had a long and tired day, especially the areas we went today were a distance from where we stay.
That nite, we slumbered into deep sleep!
